I have a 4post lift and it's easy. They may come as a package deal or you may have to get them separate but there are bridge jacks between the runners that are used to lift the car off the ramps so you can remove your tires and do suspension work.
I do believe that if you do a lot of work on your car all the 2post or the scissor style would be better. But being that my car uses the lift 99% of the time for storage I think you can't beat the 4poster. I looked at the 2post lift but if you stack your cars often like I do it's a hassle compared to just driving up the ramps.
Good luck on your search! If you are interested in a 4-post lift check out http://www.gregsmithequipment.com That's where I got mine and really like it. No affil, just a happy customer.
Here's a thread where I wrote about mine. Just more to read on here...

WCC,
thanks for the info. I like the idea with the bridge jacks so if I do decide to remove a wheel it would not be impossible to do. You are right research!
Thanks-Alex
