Last I heard, the PAC 10 and Big 10 are the biggest obstacles to a playoff system. I seem to recall one of the conference commissioners saying something to the effect of, "over my dead body".  Funny, because Pete Carroll is always pushing for a playoff. Seriously though, I think the Big 10 commissioner stated that the Big 10 would pull out of the BCS system if a playoff was adopted. Yeah, I know, big loss........
