The Laser is nice, and the issue with the belly pan would probably not be a problem for most folks, since most apparently run stock, without the pan. Hornig has not adapted the belly pan mounts for use with a Laser system (even though they sell the Laser also, I believe). So that means some modification would be needed -- which I plan to do , and can make more specific comments then.
Some argue that having the crosspipe is desirable (one particular race mechanic, for example). However, that may be debatable and something to be proven or not by dyno runs. Bob H. has the Remus header, without the crosspipe, and it runs strong.
The joints and springs on the laser header are not as "clean" looking as the Remus , but looks kind of "racy" and is not that bad really.
I do love the look of the laser cans, and the sound is awesome without the inserts. the photo is without the belly pan, while the full system was installed.
It is more difficult to mount the cans, as Bob said, with bag mounts on the bike, but it CAN be done. It is a close fit, but with the adjustability of the Laser cans and how they fit, they will go on WITHOUT modification to the bag mounts.
Has anyone out there used the Laser system with a Power Commander to tune the fuel map for more hp?
