Did they put 283s in those sleds? I'm pretty sure most of them were 327s or bigger, and then the later 70s models were 5.0s or 4.3L V-6s.
I had a 78 El Camino with a 1973 Corvette LT-1 350 motor, muncie 4 speed trans and a 3.73 posi rear. Fun car.
