Glacier National Park and the Big Sky area seem to be obvious choices.

Yes these are good places to start.

I would not be to worried about the bears. You need to be aware,
like you are in the big city. Not a big concern unless you are way back in.

I can give you some ideas around Big Sky. Off the beaten path stuff, top draft picks for the Bozeman / Big Sky area would be.

Whitewater raft the Gallatin river June Best
Take a guided fly fishing trip on the Madison and or Yellowstone river
Soak in Chico hot springs / hang out in the bar for entertainment
Hike to the top of Lone Peak in Big Sky
Horse back ride at Jakes Horses in Big Sky
Spend two days in Yellowstone park
Drive the Beartooth hwy in a Porsche or nice rental
See Livingston & Bozeman
Mountain Bike Big Sky

Whole lot to do, I would Get a DeLorme Map of the state

We go up to Glacier every couple years about 5 Hours from Bozeman
It's unbelievable as-well.

Some big distances so plan accordingly.

PM Me if you want more specifics

Have Fun
