My stepdtrs are hair phobic...the are not particularly swarthy, but shave their legs all the way to their hips, pits, etc (I suppose). But the thing that gets me is they shave their arms. They started this when they were in their early teens. Their hair on their arms is very sparse and blonde, so it escapes me why they do this. May have something to do with the air brushed images of celebrities plastered every where in our culture.


BUT...given my new attitude that unless something directly affects my quiet enjoyment of my house, I don't get, nor do I want, a vote. Sure has made my life easier

My 23yo daughter doesn't shave her arms (really fine thin blond hair) but did once mention when she was in high school that lots of other girls her age were. I think it must be a generation thing.

I also knew a girl from Palestine that was similar. She waxed her arms as well as other things.
