I've wanted one ever since the neighbor bought a black SC when I was about 5 years-old. What a gorgeous car. That the same basic body shape has held true for 45 years, now, is a testament to the "rightness" of the original aesthetic design. The unique flat-6 sound. The legendary performance and racing pedigree.
Those were the things that sold me on the car. But once I had actually purchased one and had a chance to drive it a bit, what I have since come to appreciate--what really sets this car apart--is how it feels to drive it. I've never driven anything else that communicated so well to the driver. The car may have its handling quirks (or flaws, depending on your perspective). But understeer, oversteer, under braking, under throttle: you feel it all. Every nuance and pavement texture and irregularity in the road is communicated to the driver. Not as nervousness or skittishness. But communicated for information's sake. And then set aside as the car gets down to its business. Every drive is an adventure.
