Local rates vary but I will share my experience.
My niece moved in with us for our 1st child.
She was 18.
I paid all her living expenses - room and board.
I paid her night school tuition at the local community college.
I gave her $ 1,000 a month to cover her car, insurance and some spending money.
That lasted a year.
I then sent my daughter to an awesome Montessori Daycare.
Liked the daycare better, mostly since there is no tv on all day.
1 infant at a premium daycare is about $ 1,300.00 a month. Includes food and 12 hrs a day if you wanted. My boy is there for 8-9 hours.
1 infant and my 5 yr old daughter who is in Kindergarten at the same center is $ 25,000 a year.
So, I would guess in the Midwest a nanny who shows up each morning to watch the kids until Mommy and Daddy get home from work is worth between $1000 - $2000 a month.
