Here is a nice piece of fiddleback maple I am finishing for a friends rifle. The thing is stunning! These shots are just with the stain on it. The stain is Chromium trioxide and water. When it dries it looks like dried blood. Then you steel wool off the muddy stuff and magic begins.






Now after one coat of Truoil. One down a dozen hand rubbed coats to go. The photos do not do this piece of wood justice.
