You didn't ask, but after gapping your plugs with a proper gauge, be careful when you insert them in the motor. It very easy to "bonk" them on the way to the hole, effectively closing the gap.

If you set the points to "14," a dwell tach would be a great tool to set them more accurately.

All good advice on the plug wires.

Sometimes it's not one specific thing that makes a motor "miss." It's a combo of several small things.
