I agree with Techweenie (and your wife). These cars were made for driving, not sitting around! If your not commuting 200 kilometers per day or constant stop-and-go traffic (tough work with a 915), it could well be the most pleasurable exprerience of your work day - at very least, a great way to start one off and to end one.
Six years ago, when our first child was born, I was "forced" to use my '86 Carrera Cabriolet as a daily driver for 6 months (May-October). I only had a 80 kilometer-or-so round trip commute, but it was often stretched on the way home by another 50+ kilometers. In retrospect, it was one of the most enjoyable summers/falls of my life.
Keep the car! Get a deal on a safe, newer, fuel efficient car for your daughter.
