be sure to get the mango doughnut there. It's right across the street from Dante's, which is great for a show.
Powell's Books is the most incredible bookstore you will ever go to.
As far as brewpubs, I like

Bagdad Theater (McMennamins)
When you get into PDX, just get on the MAX to the city center. The public transit is great and pretty much goes everywhere.
