The 924 actually started life as a Porsche designed Audi GT. When Audi (VW) decided to drop the project, Porsche ‘bought’ the design back. The 924 is full of components with Audi trade marks. If this piece says “Porsche”, it may be from the 944 - which the 924 morphed into.
At least you got a 911 transmission out of the ‘deal’. Keep in mind that this 911/01 only fits the '70 & '71 911. Any other application requires some serious 'fiddeling'.
