Am I missing something?, Just blast the rest of the porcelain off, put bacon grease over all of it and put them back in the cooker for about half an hour on high heat.... just hit them with a wire brush prior to each use... Or use aluminum foil over them each use... and last but not least.... take them out, put in some support rods (Rebar if thats all you have) and buy a single piece of stainless steel expanded metal to put over the support rods as your new grill surface... Back in the day our grill was cinder blocks and a shelf out of an old fridge.....
