I had the same thing happening with my 73. I ended up having to bend out both the H4 lip and the lip on the fender. Oh and ditched the new gaskets and put the old ones back in.

Now they are good but it was a mess and I thought I was going crazy for awhile. Even put my sugar scoops back on to test fit and trhey fit perfect.

The new H4's are not built as good as the old ones.....even if they are original Bosch and I paid $400 for them from our Host......Just part of having an old Porsche
