It was a good day. Finally.

Nice sunny day, 60 degrees out and decided to push the oil changes off till tomorrow. While I have a few weeks left in Maryland before the move to New York, the wifey and I decided to visit a state park about an hour away. I wanted to see a particular waterfall that I spread most of my mothers ashes down a few years ago. So we jumped in the AMG, and took a lesiurely ride.

When we got to the park there was still light snow on most of the trails. Very peaceful, very quiet, and very relaxing. We walked for an hour or more, just looking around, at the trees and what seemed to be a few hawks or eagles soaring up above. It was really cool. In these "troubling" times (I've stopped watching the news completely, nothing but despair or crap anyway) it was good to "get away", and do something that made me feel "at peace". All it cost was daylight and a half a tank of gas. Sometimes you take the phrase, "the best things in life are free" for granted.

I've always been a little spoiled. I have dirt bikes, street bikes, jet skis, houses, multiple cars, and thats not even everything in my list of hobbies. What I'm saying is...It was an awesome time walking in the woods with the wife. I reflected back when my parents were alive,(I lost them both a few years ago, and I'm only 30 so it was very hard) and other memories from the past. We had a great time. I also remembered today that my MRI last month showed yet again another year with no cancer. I beat brain cancer in 2001. Sometimes I get so involved with the world and my crap, that I forget my own health can be an issue.

Now at least for a little bit longer. I will remember, the best things really are free.

Ok Fcuking Hallmark time is over. Just wanted to share.
