Thanks so far.

Here is some more info on this car. I don't know enough about engine workings and how these modifications altered the car, so I am not a good judge of if and whether these mods are a positive, a negative or a neutral. Perhaps someone here can.

---------------------------------
[from previous owner]

This car won the 2001 National Porsche Parade Concour “Preservation Class.” The car was owned and shown by one of the partners in a Porsche turbo shop that is nationally known (I've removed reference to the specific name here).

When the previous owner had the engine out to detail the engine bay, he decided to upgrade the engine with factory Porsche parts throughout. Here is what was done:
- piston and cylinder kit
- piston rings and bearings
- manganese bronze value guides
- Teflon valve stem seals
- Titanium valve spring retainers
- Full factory gasket kit
- Balance rods end to end and as a seet
- Balance pistons as a set
- Ceramic coat piston tops
- Heat repelling coat the cylinder fins
- Magnaflux and polish crankshaft
- Factory X-33 “enhanced performance” cam grind (both set @ 1.56 advance)
- Machine cylinder tops
- Polish cylinder heads
- RS specification lightweight flywheel and clutch package
- 24 factory “twin turbo” true steel head studs

This was done when the car had around 58,000 miles, the car now has 64,000 miles. The engine is just getting broken in. Since I have had the car, I had the valves adjusted, new shocks and mounts, new power steering rack. There are records and receipts from Day One. I even have the original window sticker and the original Porsche Leather key pouch.

I had an awesome stereo placed in the car, by the best person in Houston. A Nakamichi deck, Focal (Kevlar) speakers front and back, two 8” ImageDynamic subs covered in the matching cashmere carpets, 2 Lunar amps.

[from the owner who did the engine modifications]

The engine has been renewed with full factory “X33” Porsche updated parts. Since 1991 Porsche had made several mechanical steps forward on many front, and I simply implemented the updates – and then some- into this 1991 3.3. Longevity if anything should be improved. The engine is “built like a tank” if you know what I mean. Porsche never fails to make an impeccable line of engine parts.

Well, the engine build would retail for $16,000 +/-. I thought that it would add value for sure, but really did it because the car deserved only the best. I never looked at it with resale in mind though. It’s hard to get a good return on sweat & tears. BTW, the engine can deliver that 450 HP, but it would need a more performance-oriented exhaust system to do so. The stock exhaust limits the car to 415/425. However, please read on…

The car is a pussycat. The chassis of the C2T and the coilover set up of the factory suspension is 100% up to the task of the additional power output. Tom also recently improved the shock absorbers. I am sure that its better than ever now. I think my mother could drive this car everyday without concern. Or, you could hand it over to a Pro Driver & still keep that type very entertained. It’s a win-win. The current factory exhaust system keeps the car 100% enjoyable and in check. I personally like it just as it is, but if you really needed a jolt, you’re just a set of headers away.

The car has been inspected and reinspected. It will knock the socks off of any judge or local wrench. Go ahead & set up an inspection, then buy with confidence and enjoy.
