While the bottom link says 24.5% of Americans are obese, I just heard on the news a day or two ago that that has risen to over 30%.
Gee that's not good! Do ya think maybe that has something to do with the rapid rise in diabetes?

Small World ride revamped for bigger passengers
The Small World ride now must accommodate adults who frequently weigh north of 200 pounds, which it often cannot do. Increasingly, overweighted boats get to certain points in the ride and bottom out, becoming stuck in the flume.
When a boat does bottom out, a long line of other boats backs up behind it, their passengers slowly going mad from listening to the ride’s theme song. (

Despite a smattering of government initiatives to curb the trend, Americans continued to gain weight last year as the adult obesity rate inched up to
24.5 percent from 23.7 percent in 2003, a new report says.
In New York, 22.1 percent of adults were obese last year, up from 20.9 percent in 2003. Overall, 57.7 percent of New York adults were overweight, a more general category that includes both the moderately overweight and the obese.
