I don't think it's motor mounts. I had them go on my old 944, and this doesn't feel anything like that.
The shudder in this case feels more like something grabbing and letting go at about 4 or 5 Hz. Sometimes it feels like a single bump. It's either happening, or it's not there. On/Off, not gradual.
Would a DMF feel that way?
Oh... and no smell either.
