Volvo is expensive on parts, thats true. BUT why do you guys go to the stealership? I'm probably lucky because I have two separate independent shops that my friends run. If that is, I don't do it myself. But still there has to be another alternative than the dealer. There ALWAYS is. Only under warranty will I EVER have anything at the dealer.
