I was just reading about this, it says "using a suitable diameter metal drift, tap the fulcrum pin from the support posts. Do not attempt to prise the split post apart."

"Note which way round the needle valve return hook is positioned, then lift the float assembly and needle from the cover, unhook the needle from the float arm."
