The Sixth Amendment guarantees legal counsel. We won't know what the evidence is for weeks -- maybe months. Mr. Gizmondo got a bloody nose from the airbag in his Enzo and there was nothing that his high-priced suits could do about it. Rich crooks who lawyer-up get convicted in this country every day.
And remember -- "proof beyond a reasonable doubt" is the standard of evidence in a CRIMINAL case. The CIVIL standard is generally "preponderance of the evidence." OJ managed to bamboozle a criminal jury in downtown L.A. and stay out of prison but he lost the civil case and spent the rest of his free days chasing money to make up for what he was having to pay the Goldmans. That eventually led to his karma catching up to him. I'd rather see this clown stripped of every penny of his assets and working for the rest of his life as the personal slave of Craig Elford's children.
BTW, Vic Elford's sons Martyn and Paul and are a little older than Craig. I had to check, because Vic and his wife Anita live in Florida...
