well we shot it. and with the crap aluminum blazers(FMJ) we had some FTF's (failure to feed). went thru a 50 box and really all myself and my son had to do when we had a FTF was push slide forward and then go bang.
as we neared the end of the first box FTF's were less evident. break-in??? ammo is my bet.
then we shot some spendy hornaday 90gr JHP/XTP's thru it . feeding was better and we only had (2) FTF situations. as before shove slide forward and bang. i also kind of suspect the one and only clip i got so i will buy another walther ppk/s clip and try it again. after that the dremel comes out.
took it apart and wiped excess MIL-COMM lube off of everything. out of 7 rds. had 2 more FTF . took it apart again wiped everything up.
we then proceeded to light up countryside with M-1 carbine and 15/30/40 rd clips.
all went well with .30 cal except the bolt wouldnt stay back in its lil recess and i suspect its the spring or the plunger head is worn. will drop off this week at phil arrington who werked on it last and have him fix it. $2 part if that. we also had a 30 rd clip that was giving us some FTF situations and i suspect it to be just dirty inside no big deal there.
then we took the brand new VIRGINAL M-2 TACTICAL BENELLI 12ga SNOTGUN and blasted hell out of the countryside with the new STREAMLIGHT on the barrel clamp in the on position. 7 rds blam blam blam blam blam blam blam.
no problems with streamlight. this damn thing WILL BLIND YOU! $109 bucks from cactustactical.com here in phx. since my buddy bill johnson(jim patricks uncle) was burglarized last week and my g/friends grandmothers house was broken in a few blocks from me to the west i decided to up the ante and my new drill is when i come home....................
i open the safe and place M-2 BENELLI TACTICAL mit der STREAMLIGHT und extended tube magazine NEXT TO BED!
beats the hell outta a .45 with no light for home defense from zombees.
streamlight will attach to any picatinny style rail(on my benelli barrel/mag tube clamp). i bought this from cactus tactical and its made by nordiccomponents.com in minnesota. mag tube extension and mag/barrel clamp with picatinny are top knotch machined. for 18 1/2 " barrel cut nordic components spring to 11 1/2 " BEYOND factory benelli mag tube length and nordic component mag tube extension overall length. werked perfect on 2 1/2 " number 6 bird shot and 3" magnums.
then the BIG TEST OF STREAMLIGHT AND MY SONS SHOULDER!!!!!
7 rounds 3" REMINGTON MAGNUM TRIPLE (000) BUCK SHOT! as fast as he could pull the trigger. ohhhhh this was good...........very good!
one 20 year old son with grin ear to ear and one streamlight still working bright as hell.
3 gun test completed.
all three cleaned and put back to sleep in safes.
this week get carbine fixed. buy another ppk/s mag and read about walther PPK/S FTF stories and see whats up.
by the way i also heard hitler ventilated his skull with a walther. but i have also read and heard it was a mauser. will try and trace this one down since im a history nut.
and yes in the morning when i leave for werk the M-2 goes back into safe. not gonna leave that damn thing out for someone to grab!
