Here's a good site on BPPV and the Epley Maneuver...

The goal of the Epley Maneuver is to maneuver those otoliths out of the semicircular canal where they're causing the problem.
Think of it like a 3D ball-in-a-labyrinth Cracker Jacks prize... you've got to keep doing it until you get them all out of there.
I did it twice a day and had a vibrating pad (that I use for my back sometimes) under my neck and head, and I believe it helped me get them moving.
The meds are important, too... if there's inflammation in the inner ear, it will inhibit your ability to move the otoliths along.
Notice it says "
After performing these maneuvers, the patient should remain erect or semi-erect for 1 to 2 days." That's where sleeping in a recliner or propped up slightly in the bed would help.
