We have a 2001 325ci and it is easily the best family car either of us has ever owned. It is comfortable, competent and, so far, reliable (83,000 miles).
It does seem a little boring after a drive in the 911, but then, what doesn't?
I'd be suspicious of the quoted price for a 2003. The market is bad, but not
that bad.
