i think even the earlier cars are still recognizable by youngsters. last year, when 'd take my SC to the gas station, even 5-6 year olds would recognize it and say "porsche"
on another note...
it's just such a recognizable car. at most of the gas stations here in indiana, the "pay at the pump" screen has picture of a 911 on it. i took my 911 to get filled up, and a lady at the next pump mentioned that she liked my car. i jokingly said "oh yeah....actually, if you look at your gas pump, there's a picture of it on there for ya." she, in perfect airhead fashion, asked "whoa, how do the pumps show a picture of each person's car on it??"
