Well, you've got four to choose from on the input shaft, two supporting, and two for 4th & 5th gears ... how is your crystal ball doing these days?
Question is, has the transaxle oil level been checked lately? The input shaft being highest in the transaxle means that its' four bearings get deprived of oil when the gear oil level drops! When in neutral and clutch engaged ... those bearings are all spinning without any load, and are free to chatter, vibrate, or howl. Is there any noise when driving in 4th or 5th gear? If so, it would be the 'other' gear not engaged whose bearing is most likely making the noise. Noisy in all forward gears ... one or both of the input shaft support bearings are good candidates!
