Hard drive surgery.
Good (donor) and bad drive.
Head unit removed from donor drive.
Removed head unit from bad drive.
Donor heads installed in new drive.
Unfortunately, I was not able to get the bad drive to work - same symptoms. I think one of the platters is bad.
