What is resistance of head temp sensor?

When the engine is cold, what is the resistance of the hts? When the engine is warm, what is the resistance?

Right now, the ear of the head broke off so the hts won't stay in place and get a proper reading...so I am trying to figure out if I can just throw in a resistor and ground the thing so I can actually drive the car.

Right now, as it is, the plugs get fouled because the engine runs extremely rich.

I was thinking, if it is a great resistance when hot, just put in a huge resistor and ground it, and have almost no resistance until the engine gets warm.

or visa versa when hot if it is opposite.

Thoughts?

Thanks,
Paul
