Yeah, the cable channels, pretty much all of them, are bad about repeating stuff. The reasoning is (I assume) that different people have different schedules. If a show is popular enough, they'll get two different audiences if they show something at 8pm and again at 11pm. Not only do they save money because they only need 1/3 or 1/2 as many shows, but they draw more folks in. It works for me. I sometimes miss one airing of something but catch a second or third.

When I was a kid, we only had 3 channels and actually played outside occasionally.

Sun up to sun down and often later. Even when I had an Atari or something, I was still outside 90% of the time. The Atari got used when it was raining or too late for me to be outside.
