My Speedo does make a strange noise when it jumps around. Kind of like a mechanical grinding noise. It's not too bad though, it only fluctuate about 3 mph.
btw, I managed to fix my cable. Just looked under the car and saw it was hanging... somehow it came loose. That is one hard nut to tighten!
