Speaker replacement
I am going to replace the speakers (and receiver) in my 89 911. I do not want to cut any part of the openings, just replace them with like sized. I am not an audiophile, so a basic setup is more than adequate. I was looking at Crutchfield and they only list 73-86 for sizes of speakers and they do not list the tweeters.
Two questions:
1. What sizes are the tweeter, lower door speaker, and the rear speakers?
2. Can they just be unscrewed, unplugged, and then plug in the new ones provided I buy the same size? I had read another post on removing tweeter and I checked it out and it appeared to be easy enough with no door panel removal. (I guess this assumes no wires need to bre replaced, but the current ones all work and sound is emitted from them all so I expect to use the existing wiring).
