I have a GEN II M&K 2 in 2 out on my 3.0 with SSI's and it is fairly loud. But during everyday driving I install a cap on the passenger side and it really tames things down. It still has a nice growl, you still have the look of two tailpipes and you still can uncork when you want. When I autocross or DE I pull the cap and grin ear to ear with the roar of the motor. I'm pretty sure the latest generation M&K's are quieter than my version but I love mine as is. I'm building a 914GT clone that will be running a 3.0 with headers and a very early R+D M&K 2 in 2 out, if this muffler is similiar to what I have on the SC I'll buy a plug from Ben ( M&K owner ) and plug the passenger side also. In my opinion the ability to switch back and forth is a nice option. It's just one bolt and the cap slips out, very easy.
