Totally understand where you're coming from, vash. We had a cat with diabetes. Can't recall exactly how much the insulin cost, but my wife doesn't think it was much more than about $30 per month. Don't know if that was just for the medication, or the needles/syringes as well. You parents' dog might be bigger than our cat, though, which might require more medication. Heck, just ask your parents how much the vet said it would cost. Chinese love talking about stuff like that. FWIW, we've got a partial bottle of insulin still sitting in our fridge.
