I own two guns, one is a special display gun never fired that I have no ammo for. (Uncle's police commemorative gun). My regular home defense gun has the same amount of ammo as it ever had, maybe one extra (small) box plus what's in the mags. If I have to shoot more than 20 or 30 people, I'm fked.

If I lived out in a rural setting and had to protect a ranch it would be different but I live on the 6th floor of an old apt bldg. that's pretty secure, ie. only one door in/out. The realistic chances of having to shoot it out even in a full-scale riot are close to nil, and I've been through a full-scale urban riot. You would not want to be gunless in such a situation but the idea that you would be in a para-military situation in drawn-out firefights is absurd. The enemy is a bunch of broke-ass life's losers who mostly don't own guns and ammo at all. Even if there's a huge mob of them coming your way to loot/pillage/etc., you drop one with a bullet to the chest or head and the entire crowd turns on its heels and flees like a football team that's just suffered an interception on the 10 yard line. This is a fact. I've seen it numerous times in riot footage when the police open fire on a crowd and I saw it during the L.A. riots.

You scared little girls would be better off investing in a bandana and a Che Guavara T-shirt that would allow a quick "switch teams" maneuver if you're overrun.
