I wouldn't reinstall the OS after a RAM upgrade no need ..most PC users don't do usual maintenance like de-frag of the disk or registry.. or even use disk clean up to get back space...huge amounts of HD space is occupied by old logs, temp files, and assorted crap...
Some due diligence is required of the PC user...
