You "could" just do your TurboTax online (i.e. not actually installed on your pc but running on their server). I switched over to that version couple of years ago and use a link through my credit union site. One other thing, pc's don't become "obsolete" if you don't constantly upgrade operating systems (Vista), and the latest fad applications that suck up resources. You just do basic stuff, add some RAM, and you could be set for years.
