Sorry to hear you you were one of the ones laid off. Even if you are happy to be out I wouldn't want to be looking for a job right now. I looked at a lot of resumes from EMC employees for these positions, but none of them had more then minor exposure to Java.
I like working for EMC. I was an employee at Avamar when EMC purchased us 2.5 years ago, and my day to day job hasn't changed much since then. I sit at the same desk doing the same job, and I still enjoy it. The biggest change is I'm now working for a stable, profitable company instead of a small startup that is bleeding venture capital funding.
