The suspect, Lovell Mixon had an extensive criminal history and was recently paroled on an assault with a deadly weapon conviction. Mixon's killing spree was initiated by a routine traffic stop. Mixon was 27 years old.
This is a complete failure of the criminal justice system. Why is a known violent criminal allowed parole at age 27? My thoughts and prayers are with the families of the murdered officers.
