I like the idea of 7 shots and 4" barrel seems to be a good balance between carryable and recoil-handling.

Any other favs out there? The 686 or 66 seem to be the "classic" .357. This one is sassy:

I had a Ruger Police Service Six in .357 that was a really nice service grade pistol. The GP-100 would be Rugers equiv today.

Any modern name brand revolver should be serviceable. At this point it is long since perfected technology, so they pretty much are all guaranteed to go boom when you pull the trigger.
