I have one of these in 6 1/2" (I don't recall them being in 6") and personally, I wouldn't consider anything shorter. Even with the heavier N frame, they've got a pretty good recoil, but nothing like a .44 mag. My first handgun purchase a LONG time ago, and I only have one regret...I wish I'd have gotten a Colt Python instead
. That's after getting the Python's baby brother, a Diamondback in 22lr. You won't go wrong with either, but the Colts are simply spectacular imo.
