I have a Ruger Blackhawk .357 with a 6 inch barrel. Great gun. Its my hiking gun.
That being said, I think a S&W 686 would be an excellent choice. On of my favorite handguns period. I shot one with a 6 inch barrel, and I was suprised at how accurate I was with it.
