Okey Dokey then. Bad DME eh? well, doesn't happen often...But it does happen. Sorry to hear that it is such an expensive component. Judging by your list of to do's you are quite the adventurous person. If I may offer my advice I would hold off on some of the more cosmetic items until such time as th car has proofed itself. As for the coolant system...just flush a few times with distilled water. Do not use radiator flush as it tends to be a little harsh and may create more problems than it solves. Keep the injectors you have for now if they are functioning well. some FI cleaner and a few highway drives can do wonders. TB OK?
BAD DME's can present in strange and mysterious ways. Be kind to the one you have now. Consider running a separate grounding wire running from the case to a solid point on the body. Clean and inspect ALL grounds, and power connections at the alt and battery. Good luck 2U.
