Sherwin Williams is probably the best paint available; as others have stated. Just sit outside and SW store around 7:30 am. You will see just how many pro crews are there buying their supplies. Now bo to a Benjamin Moore, Lowes, Home Depot, etc. paint depts. and look who is there; homeowners or "painting crews"(covered in paint drips and splatter) buying their supplies.
For solid or semi-transparent stain, Silkens and Cabbott make a good product.
A real pro will choose the best materials and supplies becuse they know that the finished product they supply will be their calling card for years to come.
I personally have painted a lot of the projects I have built or remodeled. Partly because I am very picky and will not accept an OK job, and partly because I have not been able to find a painter in my area that is worth what they charge.
