If you look at the 2008 in car footage you can barley see the front wing. The drivers view is another foot or so lower so there's no way they could see the front wing on the 2008 or 2009 car.

There is no F1 broadcast in HD. What you see on a "HD channel" is just an upconversion of the SD 480. You can blame Bernie for this. They film all the footage on HD cameras, but the world feed is SD.
