These expedition rigs are very cool. You see a lot of them in Europe as people head out for a year in Africa or Asia. Very pricey (half a million $ and up) — but beautifully built and entirely self-contained.
Of course half a million $ is 2,500 nights (almost 7 years) in a $200 a night hotel! (And that's before fuel costs, maintenance and insurance etc.
The math never worked for me—though a long road trip through Africa or South America is on my bucket list.
