In all seriousness, I'm a pretty careful driver. No tickets or accidents for many, many years and (knock on wood), I've never even been pulled-over in the 996. Among the many things I like about driving in L.A. is that pretty much everyone is zipping along and you can get away with mild speeding most of the time if the conditions permit it. We have well designed roads and lots of traffic to move so move it does. (Most of the time). I'm happy to go slow when the conditions warrant it. There is a big difference between mild speeding and driving like an idiot, aggressive, etc...

I even try to drive as safely as possible at the track. And that is definitely the only place where the smell of burning rubber and clutch/brakes emanates from my car. I will zip along on Mulholland when it's clear but I will absolutely not drive in a fashion where I cannot change course or stop through a blind corner or bully slow-moving traffic ahead of me. The other night there was a WRX Subaru in front of me that wanted to play and I just let him go, I could see that he was not a good driver by the constant brake lights and I will not "push" someone or encourage them to drive recklessly. I'd rather have them think that they "dusted the Porsche" and hopefully slow down. It gets crazy in the canyons, people have the need for the thrill of speed but not the skill or judgement to do it safely. On the open road I will open it up if it's clear but the challenge is to not get a ticket. I've been 100% successful so far with countless x-country jaunts. YMMV.
