Rob, thank you. I really appreciate this insight you just gave me. Understanding the source of emotions as a disconnect between desires and thoughts, and the remedy which is focused positive thinking. We always underestimate how powerful thoughts really are, and how we can project our own fear or positivity to affect the outcome of events.
Now, if only I could overcome the fear of people who have to make key decisions that concern my future, I`d be all set. I know they are fearful too, and the problem is, I do not have sufficient access to them. Those who know me are not the problem. They know what to expect. The issue comes with the decision makers who do not know me personally.
I always think that in the workplace, there are three categories of people: those who totally depend on others to provide work for them and receive directions. We shall call them the working bees. Then you have those who can carry their own weight, be their own boss by creating and executing all their work. But they do not have much power because they are a one man show. I would belong to that category.
And finally, you have those who not only carry their own weight with ease, but also carry others and can provide for them. Not all can do that, I wish I did, but I fear it would cause me too much anxiety. There is a balance to be found here, as responsibilities give power and freedom, but can wear you down. Anyhow, those were the thoughts a man who should be sleeping
