My thoughts exactly, and I've changed the oil religiously at 3000.
I want to keep the truck, though, it still looks spiffy to me, the suspension is nice and tight, I can drive it anywhere, and I don't want to buy anything brand new at this particular time. (and the value is still holding pretty strong, for what it is.) Couple of grand for a new motor is a decent tradeoff for me.
