Holy Krap, John...That a Catalin plastic radio? Some confuse it with Bakalite...but catalin was smoother. Anyway, it seems the Bendix is the least valuable of the Catalin radios, but I think it's deco style is wayyy cool! Do you have a model number? A 1992 book I have places the value (mint..I'm afraid) at anywhere between $65 and $275. Who knows what a collector would pay today.

Shine that puppy up and enjoy! Oh...made late '40's, depending on the model.
Who knows? This may have been the radio that was on when Marilyn Monroe posed for "the" calendar photo...a leering reporter once asked: "Did you have anything on when that photo was taken?" She replied: "The Radio."...

I was kind of "into" radios for a spell...probably an only child syndrome thing...my old 5 tube radio was a dear friend to me...

(edit) A quick search found this site...for those who wish to know more about old radios..
